What You Might Want to Know
and
What you Might Not Want to Know
1. When figuring out the best way to get down to Georgia, it's OK to get into a random person's car. Or, in my case, to drive to random houses and pick up strangers like it's a part of you average day. I guess stranger danger doesn't always apply. Instead, God calms your nerves about meeting new people who will help you change your life.
2. Embrace the uncomfortable.
When you feel self conscious about the tears and snot running down your face as you accept the Holy Spirit into your heart, try to see yourself through God's eyes: an adorable child who finally feels her Father's love.
3. Singing Mulan's "I'll Make a Man Out of You" is a great de-stressor when your trying to fit wayyyyy too much in one compression sack. Really, if you have God you're ready for anything and everything.
4. Humidity brings people closer together. You can literally feel the warmth of everyone's love. Oh, have I mentioned your perspective influences your experience?
5. Know that a loving father challenges his children to grow. God is patient, which I am ever thankful for. However, any relationship takes effort. Make sure you don't ignore the voice that's calling you home.
6. Bring S'mores. If your squad doesn't instantly love you they will after this. Unfortunately, I'm not speaking from experience. We didn't have s'mores, instead we had amazing songs sung by talented friends. Actually, it was a much better substitute.
7. Be aware: you don't deserve anything, you aren't entitled to anything, you have no rights.
Be humbled by the Lord for He will do wonders to, for, and through you.
8. After sleeping on the bus, which is code for a contraption that awkwardly squishes your body into several uncomfortable positions as you try to get a measly minute of sleep, you realize how thankful you are that God has provided you with a tent that allows you to breathe.
9. When you are at your lowest talk to God. He might even provide a friend or two to help you through.
10. Never doubt God's constant love for you. He thinks you are absolutely wonderful.
