First week of the World Race has been amazing. This month will be an all squad month, which has made the transition from the life in the US to “race life” a bit smoother. Each team will be working at different ministries. My team will be working at the senior center. When I first heard this I was a bit skeptical. I didn’t think it was going to be a very epic month. Yes, bad attitude I know. HOWEVER once we arrived and all the seniors welcomed us all that negativity went darting out the window. They had smiles from ear to ear and once we were able to spend some time with them we could see their childlike spirits despite their old bodies. We don’t have a translator with us so it opens up the opportunity to communicate in new ways. The Lord definitely showed up yesterday because we didn’t have any problems. We even played soccer with them… They were definitely ballers back in the day! Being able to love on these people showed me so much of our Fathers heart. I felt like each person was my grandmother or grandfather. I will be the one learning from them this month not the other way around.

Like I said above this is an all squad month. It has been so encouraging having everyone together! We have said time and time again that we were not all put on this squad by chance… I believe the Lord is going to use us to shake the nations this year! I could not be more pumped!

We need to remember that He will use us in so many different ways, and he will show his love through us in so many different ways. The first day we hung out with some pretty amazing seniors and the second we repelled off the side of a fire station to paint. There is no sense in putting our Father in a box. His love comes in so many different forms. I can not wait to experience each one of them this year…
