OK so I am sure that most of you think that I am in the Philippines, but guess what I am not. We had a slight unexpected delay in plans. Sarah one of my teammates became very ill when we were at the airport on 12/22. She could not stop vomiting and unfortunately could not get on the plane. Sarah and I stayed behind and everyone else went. on. We planned on just staying at a hotel for one night and then catching another plane the next day. I thought she just had food poisoning. When we arrived at our hotel Sarah started to have bloody diarrhea. I have received permission from Sarah to share this information. Needless to say we ended up at the hospital. Sarah has been in the hospital for the last couple of days. The doctors diagnosed her with dysentery. Sarah has been through so much. She has been stuck so many times by needles and was moved around a couple of times. We felt very lost here in Hong Kong by ourselves for the first 48 hours, but were soon saved by a family that lives here. Sarah got out of the hospital today but is still very weak. We are in a house with a Christian family that has been taking care of us. Sarah still needs to finish about 4 days of antibiotics before she is able to travel on, per Doctor order. It has been a little hard on both of us being separated from our squad. But we are together and happy that she is not in the hospital for Christmas.
