For wayyyy too long, I have been dwelling on how HUGE the amount of money is that needs to be raised for this trip. I keep focusing on the end goal and thinking about how much I don’t have. Focusing on what you don’t have is never a good idea…the Lord promises that when he asks us to do something, he will provide! I guess I haven’t been trusting him because I have been paralyzed with fear of even starting to fundraise! Well that stops today! Today I actually started to move. I took a step towards the goal. I called and found a place to have my first fundraiser…a car wash! I had to call several places before I found one that would host my car wash but I did eventually find a place:

Jiffy Lube

Farmwell Hunt Plaza

Ashburn, VA 20147

and a date:

August 9 from 10am to 4pm

Just making that baby step of progress, which took all of 2 hours at the most is a HUGE step! So now I can focus on what I DO have.

  • Time
  • Volunteers
  • Ideas
  • Friends and Family
  • Support

I was so busy focusing on the end goal and what I don’t have that I didn’t realize how many resources I have right in front of me. I guess sometimes when you are paralyzed to make a move in any direction, you just have to make a baby step. That little baby step could be just what you need to get the momentum going. When you don’t have what you think you need, just remember, God provides. You may not have what would make you feel secure right now (like actual money) but you have what you need to make the first step! Take the baby step, trust, and the rest will come. Today I am going to just trust. What is causing you to be paralyzed with fear? Take a baby step today…even if it is just letting someone know you need some help!
