We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip.
Here is what I’m expecting…

In Preparation:

I expect that I might doubt
I expect that I will worry a lot
I expect that I might find myself overwhelmed
I expect that at times my focus would be on the money trying to be raised, than on God
BUT….
I expect to discover God’s peace that covers ALL my fears and doubts
I expect to increase in faith
I expect to see God’s power go beyond my expectations
I expect to see God provide in ways that will leave me in awe
I expect to be challenged, but come through in God’s strength
I expect to see God’s faithfulness through the words He spoke to me in Scripture
I expect to be confirmed that I am right where God wants me to be

Over on the Field:

I expect to be confronted with my fears
I expect to experience things I never imagined
I expect to see the world in a whole new way
I expect to feel helpless at times with all the need I will see
I expect to be burdened
BUT….
I expect to overcome my fears and the things that hold me back
I expect to be blown away by God’s creative beauty through the places I go and the faces
              I will see
I expect to love love love the people God has planned for me to meet
I expect to be used by God in ways that I didn’t think I was capable of being used
I expect to see Jesus in the faces of those I see
I expect God to take care of us and watch over us no matter where we find ourselves
I expect to depend on God like never before in my life; depend like He is the very breath
of air that my lungs are waiting to take in

Afterwards:

I expect to be CHANGED FOREVER!
I expect to discover more of who I am
I expect to discover God in a truer, deeper, more personal sense
I expect to be amazed by God!
I expect to have conquered my fears
I expect to discover a personal vision for my life
I expect to be unstoppable for HIS Kingdom!
I expect to be READY FOR ANYTHING!
