Deep and wide…Deep and Wide…There’s a Fountain Flowing Deep and Wide

I stood at the bottom of the waterfall, looking up in awe of the beauty around me. I heard God say, “Kate, enjoy my creation. Remember this moment. Look up into the lush green mountains, and the vertical ascent surrounding you on all sides. Take in the piercing blue sky, see My birds soaring above the mountain tops. So deep and so wide is my love for you.”

As a tear rolled down my face, I felt overwhelmed by God’s presence. God wants to spend time with me. He wants me to know Him in a new way that’s so deep and wide and real.

“That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith; that you, being ROOTED and GROUNDED in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:16-19).

In the quiet, I asked the question, “God, how am I rooted in love?” My answer came in the form of a visual image in my mind. I saw roots of humility planted deep in God’s soil of love. From there, God showed me a sturdy, strong tree with many branches. Finally, God revealed an exceeding, abundance of fruit growing alongside the healthy leaves.

Right now, I’m in the in-between. Month one is complete. Month two sits on the horizon, and the quiet surrounds me. God is speaking. Telling me to trust Him. Urging me deeper into His Word and His presence. Calling me to give up the old me, and let Him transform me.

“But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit
searches all things, yes the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

Diving into God’s love exhilarates me, yet sometimes I still hesitate. No more hesitation! I’m diving in head first, ready for new depths of truth, trust, joy, peace, and love.

Here’s to understanding the depths of God’s love for us.

Love, Love, Love
