Do we really believe that God is good? All the time? Do we really think that God has a good plan in mind for us? Do we just read about God’s goodness at the creation of the world and stop there?

In the book of Genesis, Moses writes about the creation of all things. God created the heavens and the earth and said IT IS GOOD. God created the water and land and said IT IS GOOD. God created the vegetation and said IT IS GOOD. God created the sun, moon and stars and said IT IS GOOD. God created the animals and said IT IS GOOD. And God created man and woman and said IT IS GOOD. Everything he made he said it is good. Without fail, God reflected on what he had done and said it is good. Without fail God created all things with the intention of making it good.

I can’t tell you how many times I have read the story of creation and read those words, “It is good” and didn’t give it much thought. But God doesn’t just want us to see his goodness in the first chapter of the first book of the Bible. God is still good. He is always good. He works everything out to be good. God has goodness in mind when he works in our lives. God still has goodness of his presence even through the tough times.

God’s plans are sovereign. His will for each of us will always prevail. He will always work it out so he can look at it and say, “It is good.”

God calls me to the World Race and says, “It is good.”
And it is good.
God asks me to leave my friends and family for a year and says, “It is good.”
And it is good.
God moves me around the world to 11 countries and says, “It is good.”
And it is good.

God route changes us to Malawi and says, “It is good.”
And it is good.
God changes my team to a team of 5 girls and says, “It is good.”
And it is good.
God asks me to share the Gospel with a prisoner and says, “It is good.”
And it is good.

God moves you to a new home/neighborhood and says, “It is good.”
And it will be good.
God asks you to change jobs and says, “It is good.”
And it will be good.
God brings a blessing of a baby into your life and says, “It is good.”
And it will be good.
God walks through the struggles of life with you and says, “It is good.”
And it will be good.

God is Good, all the time. All the time, God is good!

This isn’t just a catchy phrase that charismatic churches use to get crowd involvement, but it is the truth. Do you believe that? Do you know God’s goodness?

I would challenge you to reconsider your thinking of God’s goodness.
God is good. God is good to you, and in your life.
