Welcome to my blog! Many of you reading this probably already know who I am, but for those of you who don’t know me…. Read on!
My parents named me Katherine, but pretty much everyone calls me Kate or Katie… unless you’re one of my high school students, then it’s Miss Kremer. I grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area. I have two younger sisters, Jenni and Nicole, and will soon add a brother-in-law to the mix, Matt. My parents are officially empty nesters and still live in the KC area with the family cat snowflake, who by the way is completely black.
After graduating high school in 2008, I moved down to Branson Missouri. Five years later I graduated from College of the Ozarks with a degree in History and Secondary Education.
While attending college, I felt God calling me to leave everything that was familiar behind and go to bush Alaska. After graduation I moved…. and literally found myself on the edge of the world! Emmonak Alaska is located on the Yukon River Delta, and is only a few miles from the Bering Sea. To put it in perspective for you, the closest Wal-Mart is about 480 miles away in Anchorage.
For the past 3 years I have taught High School History for the Lower Yukon School District. It has been quite the experience and it will be hard to say good-bye. However, I am very excited about this new chapter in life that I am about to begin on the World Race. God’s plan is perfect, and I can’t wait to see what He has in store for me!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
