The Department of Tourism for the Philippines has a tagline – “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”. You can find the phrase plastered on posters, telephone poles, resort advertisements, and almost every form of public transportation in the Philippines. While the “it” has yet to be determined, the phrase has made a point. And I just happen to agree. It just might be more fun in the Philippines!
Month 8 for Team Woven was spent based in Antipolo, Philippines – just outside of Manila. We spent the month building relationships with the 15 boys and 2 girls that are residents of Children’s Garden of the Philippines (CG). We played basketball and cards, had pillow fights, water fights, tickle fights, and even food fights. We sang worship songs and led Bible Studies. We traveled with them and assisted in leading many different community outreaches and 2 VBS mission trips to communities around the island. Over all, it was by far one of the best months we have experienced on the World Race. We fell in love with the ministry of CG, and the boys and girls became like little siblings to us. I can’t wait to find out when God will open the doors for me to return!
