I know I haven’t posted much about my time here in Costa Rica so here’s a little run down of all the NON-ministry adventures we have done here… when in Costa Rica do as the ticos do.

It has been a pretty crazy month filled with a lot of new experiences. So far on the race it is the first place I feel like I have really lived… gotten to know the area, the people and run the place red! It has been incredible fun.

Our first night out on the town my team took a bus to Heredia, CR and explored the city. There was a pretty cool fresh food market, lots of shopping opportunities and my favorite… lots of food! So of course we went to Taco Bell and Pops… cause where else would we get such good tacos! (sense the sarcasm?? 🙂

Taco Bell.

Pops.

The very next morning we set out on our first official adventure day! We went to see a active volcano, Poaz, and according to one of the locals we were only a short distance away from where they filmed certain scenes in Jurassic World! Also, we discovered it is one of the top national parks in the country… which was super cool too!

A little bit later that week we took a bus to Heredia to see a local popular coffee shop and it was incredible! #cafebritt

And then probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to me in my life happened… we went to a freestyle hip hop street dance session in the capitol, San Jose at House of Raw.  This dance studio is run by a guy named Jose, he started his ministry on the streets and is now using dance to draw people to Jesus, and it works… it was easily the coolest thing in my life.

And now… as I write this, my team is in Jaco, CR at the beach.  We decided to take this weekend off and have some more fun! More pics to come after the weekend is over!

I know it seems like all we do is adventure sometimes… we are super blessed to be able to relax and sight see sometimes but the truth is that we engage in our ministry here Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm and we help on Sunday mornings too. We have been so blessed with relationships with people that have pushed us, discipled us and blessed our team. I also will have a blog up for all things ministry within the next few days but I wanted to show a little bit of fun too!
Future racers…. I know it looks like a ton of fun, and it is, it is a true adventure. However, if your coming simply because it looks like fun, be warned that it is a lot of hard work, prayer, tears, team building and its hectic… but its worth it.
