Hi!
My name is Karly Thomas. I am a licensed Elementary Education/Special Education teacher. I am a lover of hugs, books, journaling, singing, painting, laughter, and coffee. I have a passion for kids and to see the world through my Father’s eyes.
I attended college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and got my degree in 2014 in Elementary/Special Educaiton. I recently just completed my first year of teaching Special Education to K-3rd graders. Teaching was a crazy, emotional, and overall wonderful experience. I learned a lot about myself and I am excited to stretch myself even more!
My family and friends mean a lot to me. My parents are wonderful supporters of me and my dreams and I am so incredibly thankful for them. I have one younger brother who I have grown very close to over the years. He has got a lot of personality and charisma and I am excited to see where life is going to take him!
My parents have been divorced since I was a freshman in high school. Since then, my father has remarried a remarkable and beautiful woman that I am proud to call my step-mother. Along with her I also have 2 step-siblings: a brother and a sister. Even though I would have never pictured life working out the way that it has, I couldn’t imagine these people not being a part of my life! I would not be where I am today would it not be for their support, encouragement, and unconditional love.
My other family is the friends I have crossed path with over the years. I was a part of a campus ministry organization in college called InterVarsity. Over those 4 years I was able to lead, serve, be led, and meet the people that are forever a part of my life. I am so thankful for their love and support over the years.
1. I sing ALL the time! My friends say I am a human jukebox.
2. I am a coffee lover, not addicted, but I am in a love relationship with it.
3. My favorite food is mashed potatoes. Potatoes in general are my fave.
4. I love comedy movies. My humor stretches from ridiculous, to dry, to witty. I love a good laugh!
5. I have never been on a mission trip before! I have always had the desire to go, but this will be my first one. Eeek!
6. I love books. I could sit and read all day if I could.
7. One of my favorite activities is hiking.
8. I have been painting since I was in the 5th grade. A hobby that I love and wish I made more time for.
9. My love language is quality time.
10. I am not that great with technology. This whole blog thing is really going to put me to the test!
11. I love to dance.
12. I have a wonderful and supportive boyfriend. We have been together for 2.5 years!
13. I smile A LOT. 🙂
14. Having life talks with friends is one of my favorite things to do.
15. Journaling and singing are my outlets.
16. Chocolate ice cream and rainbow sprinkles is my favorite treat.
17. I collect owl trinkets.
18. I love exploring new places.
19. I believe breakfast food should be consumed at any time of the day.
