1. Even when you travel for 5 days straight you still find God in the little things. Like the moon while you on in the plane or you seeing the country side by the buses headlights as you travel 14 hours overnight and can’t sleep but you see the beauty through every turn
2. Sleep is a beautiful thing. Whether it’s 4 hours or 8 hours. After the 4 day travel day I took a 4 hour and sleep the soundest I’ve slept in a while and I was still tired 4 hours later. Jet lag is a real thing.
3. Winter is a real thing in July. And I may not have packed according. Getting off the bus somewhere in South Africa to use the bathroom in the middle night I went to talk and I could see the breath and was shivering. I had a flannel and leggings and socks and chacos. It was 20 degrees Celsius. Cold. I have a hoodie and some socks and short sleeve shirts and that’s it. It’s going to be a cold month in Swaziland next month.
4. Community is a great thing. Living with 6 girls has been great. These girls are so full of life and so full of the Lord and doing life with them and missions with them has brought me so much joy and life makes me happy. These next 11 months are going to be great. They may have their ups and downs but I know we can get through them.
5. Africa is amazing. Personally Port St Johns South Africa isn’t Bulmia Tanzanian or Mwazna Tanzania where my heart truly is in Africa but Africa is Africa and I love Africa and I think all of Africa is amazing beautiful and Port St Johns has so many beautiful parts to it so many fun places to explore. I love to explore and see Gods creation and worship him in those ways.
Anyways there’s more to Port St John but I wanted to give a short update to what’s happened since I landed in South Africa. I’ll give a more detailed more later. Wifi is extremely limited and we have a short amount of time post. So be on a lookout for a more detailed post coming soon!
Also! Please be in continued prayer for me, my team, and the community of Port St Johns!
