Hi friends and family!
I’m SO excited to announce that.. I’M DOING THE WORLD RACE! It’s officially official. 11 countries. 11 months. 1 glorious gospel. 1 glorious God and Savior. I am beyond thrilled! (If you have no idea what this is or want more info, go to www.worldrace.org or contact me).
So to give you a little insight into how I decided to do this crazy adventure:
About 15 months ago in December 2013, while I was in the country of Haiti for the first time, I had a good friend (shout out, Cat Foust!) tell me about this crazy thing that a friend from her school was on. I remember thinking it was CRAZY, but cool. 11 countries in 11 months? Wild.
Little did I know, that after many conversations about missions with friends, reading OVER AND OVER again (the book of Psalms alone, Revelation 5:9) of how much GOD talks of His love for the nations in the Bible, two trips to the beautiful country of Haiti, a bachelor’s degree, and not any plans to use it.. later, here I am. Trusting God for the next year of my life and for the rest of my life.
On Christmas day, I heard about the World Race again while creepin’ on instagram (a hobby of mine), got ridiculously excited, and spent the next two days doing non-stop research on the World Race. I did a lot of praying and seeking wisdom over the next 2 months from many people. I applied in January, got accepted in February, and am now raising support to GO! IT IS SURREAL. I am SO excited to go.
And before I talk too much about myself, I need to shift the focus to HIM. Besides, He is the One this is about. Heck, He’s the One it’s ALL about. World Race or not.
A few things about God that have shaped my ideas about missions and His mission to the world and motivation for going on the WR:
1. God is WORTHY of the praise and glory of ALL peoples because of what Jesus did on the Cross (Revelation 5:9-10). He bought people from every people with His blood.
2. God LOVES the nations and desires to see men from EVERY tribe, tongue, and culture be saved and enjoy Him forever.
3. The Gospel of Jesus is GOOD, true, and able to save.
4. Because of His grace and kindness, we get to play a part in His saving work!!!
He saves, we rejoice. We rejoice, He gets the glory.
How amazing is that?!

Just because I may be physically going on this trip doesn’t mean I am the only one involved. In fact, I absolutely can’t do this without the support of others. God created it this way. I NEED your help.
First and foremost, I need prayer. Oh how I need prayer!!! That’s what I need most. Through prayer, God allows us to see Him work where otherwise we might not have! If there’s nothing else you can do, I ask you to pray! Pray for His glory to be made known through my team and I and for people to be saved as a result of His glory being made known.
Second, I need financial support. This trip costs a little over $16,000 and this recent college graduate cannot afford it by herself. I would greatly appreciate it! Lastly and most important, if you are reading this and you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, I would love to tell you about Him and His saving work. The God of the universe is holy and perfect and in comparison, we are sinful and therefore separated from Him. Bad news: We deserve wrath, hell, and eternal separation from Him because of our sin. Not only that, but all human beings are under His wrath automatically and NEED a Savior. Good news: God has provided a Savior!!! God sent His perfect and spotless Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life that we can never or will be able to live and died the death WE deserved for our sin on the cross! He rose again from the dead and is now seated in Heaven with all power and authority in His hands. It is a free gift of salvation; all you have to do is receive it, repent of your sin, and trust Jesus alone for salvation. And the best part about it? We get JESUS forever.
