“Can you translate this?”

This phrase has become so familiar to me since the day I arrived in Colombia. Don’t get me wrong I am infinitely grateful to God for this gift He has given me. Coming into the world race knowing there was 3 Spanish speaking countries I knew that translating was definitely something I could contribute to my team.  Being the middle person between a Colombian who doesn’t speak English and an American who doesn’t speak Spanish can be a lot pressure. Making sure the message of hope and love was understood fell heavy on my shoulders, I didn’t want to let my teammates down.

My team and I were given to opportunity to work with 8 different churches in the city of Cali, our mission this month was to evangelize and share the love of Christ. We met so many different people from different walks of life and being able to hear their life stories was life changing.  We met people that were already believers and were just thrilled to hear about what we were doing around the world and were honored to receive prayer from us. We met people who weren’t believers and were set on what they believed in but were so respectful to still hear what we had to say. We also met people who didn’t want anything to do with what we had to say. We left Cali knowing that every person we met and talked to felt God’s unconditional Love!!!!!

God did so much in our time in Colombia and it’s just the beginning. Just to think that we have 10 more months of this is gets me excited. I strongly believe that God has great things for the city of Cali and to know that we were able to plant a seed in that it’s truly a blessing. We leave a piece of our hearts with every single person we met.

Thank you Colombia for being good to us!!!!!!!!
