Santo Domingo, Xenacoj, Guatemala

Guatemala has been an amazing experience. This month we had the opportunities to not only work with the widows and orphans, but truly love the community we were in. Our days where filled with house visits to local widows and feeding programs in local schools in the mornings.

It is so powerful to see the work that God is doing through Go! Ministries. It is a beautiful thing to see even a small glimpse of how God is using this ministry. Go! Ministries has over 180 widows that they care for on a weekly basis; because of this we were able to be apart of services and lead worship for the widows.

We sang together and worshiped together and it was in this moment that I realized what the kingdom of God truly looks like. Its not about where you come from or what you have. It’s about loving one another and loving and serving God with all of our hearts. Most of these widows don’t have money  but they had more love for us missionaries than any bank in the world could have held.

Guatemala was an amazing time of ministry and learning what it means to be community and the Body of Christ. To be able to take care of those who are in most need, Widows and Orphans, is one of the most rewarding things I have done on this race thus far.

Guatemala has taught me a lot about what it means to be dedicated to living a life of service to the Lord. Our host family worked early mornings day in and day out to have food prepared for the feeding program and to have food for the widows. It was amazing to see such a selfless family come together to take care of the body of Christ. They put the needs of the widows and orphans ahead of themselves every time, even if they themselves are in need of help. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced. Their selflessness and commitment has forever impacted my life and challenged me to live a life just as passionately committed to Christ.

Thank you to everyone following me on this journey. I appreciate all of the love, prayer and support I have received! Don’t forget Our next deadline is April 1st and I am still $1500 short.
