You could not find a book that portrays the flesh trade in Thailand more perfectly than Karmic Ties. It talks about every aspect of human trafficking there is. From “Ladyboys,” to trafficking within the country, to trafficking of Thai girls to Japan, to trafficking of girls from Burma to brothels in Thailand. This novel does such a good job at depicting the Thai flesh trade as well as the culture. How one person’s greed can wreck and destroy so many lives. If you do decide to read this book and I highly recommend that you do, I feel like I should warn you that some parts may be a little graphic, but it gives such great insight to Thai culture and how dark their sexual sin really is, that I can’t help but recommend it.
