Every now and then, I have one of these philosophical moments that goes something like, “Holy crap… This is real life. This is my actual life right now.” I know, deep right? It’s usually in the most random times. Like laying on my backpack, waiting on a 16 hour train drinking milk tea… Or climbing back on to a night bus at 12:20, when they randomly wake you up to go off the bus into a garage to choose a food at random for your dinner… Or when I’m sleeping in the bar of a hostel because our rooms aren’t ready until the next day… Or flying down the interstate in the back of a songtau (which is basically a pickup truck with some bars around the sides).

When did this become normal?!?

In these moments it’s so hard to believe that less than a few months ago I was a college student in normal small town Barbourville. Yet somehow this is now the norm! It’s so crazy. God blesses me so much in these small moments just as much as He does when I’m witnessing to my Chinese friends, or loving on the beautiful kids at Remember Nhu. In these crazy small moments, I can laugh and get a glimpse of how God is even in the small things. I can see how much he delights in our joy! We just have a little moment together where He assures me I am right where I am supposed to be and that He cares for every detail of my life, no matter how crazy it gets!

We get to be a part of some crazy awesome things on the World Race.  In the moments where we see that the good, the bad, the big, the small, and the silly moments are all orchestrated by Gods hands, it only leads to more faith and more joy. I truly believe everything has a purpose, and its crazy awesome how I get to see it play out in everything this year.  This IS my life right now, and it’s the most joy I’ve ever experienced.
