I can remember as my family would travel long distances when I was little, I would look at the passengers in the cars passing by and think about their stories.  Where were they from? What were their families like? Did they have brothers or sisters? What was a typical day in their lives?

Whether I was imagining they were driving to the beach for a nice family vacation or fleeing the state to escape from aliens… I've always been captivated by the uniqe story of a person's life.

Today, I don't daydream about passengers of other cars running from aliens (quite as often anyway…), but I do think about how each person I come in contact with has been shaped by thier past.  I think about how each detail of their lives, good and bad, was designed by God to make them into the person they are.  Most importantly, I now think of how their lives can CHANGE with the simple introduction to love.  Not just any love… But the unfailing, never ending, sacrificial, perfect love of Christ.

This passion is what has led me to the World Race.  As I read the blogs of past racers and see face after face of lives they have touched… I am overwhelmed with compassion.  If not for their contact with the World Racer, would these faces have ever heard the name of Jesus? Would they have ever known hope?

Then I begin to think of all the faces I will see on my journey to come.  The faces of the hungry… The poor…The hurting… The enslaved… The broken… The hopeless… The lost… I can't bring them out of poverty, feed them forever, erase their hurt or change their past… But I have something greater!  I have a love that changes lives and a savior that gave His life up for mine.  I can love each face I meet, and I can tell them about the One who first loved me.  The face that I will see one day… and His story that changes everything.
