I can’t believe its already month EIGHTH of eleven in this incredible journey God has called me on. Before I know it I will be on a plane flying back to Mississippi! The thought of being home in three months has made me ponder the questions I will receive from family and friends about my journey over the past year.
Ten months ago I wrote my first blog and in it I shared what my expectations were for the race. This is a little of what I said.
I desire to experience the world through God’s eyes. I want to cry for the harden hearts of others with the Lord; and watch Him transform their hearts of stone and fill it with love and forgiveness. I long to see the shear JOY on their face when they meet the loving God that I know for the very first time! I want to experience and be an active part of showing God’s love and mercy to ALL of His children! I desire to give back all the blessings God has given to me by being a light for His kingdom.
God has shown me all these things and so much more over the past eight months. Not only have I been able to be the hands and feet of Jesus all over the Kingdom, but God has literally blown my heart away with His LOVE. He has shown me love through the families and contacts I have lived with, through my teammates, through family and friends back at home, through strangers, through kids on the street, and so many more! So one huge thing I will walk away with from this journey is realizing and understanding that God’s LOVE is everywhere. It’s ALL AROUND ME.
Do you know what its like to feel and see God’s love everywhere? To wake up with so much Joy that you can’t help but share that joy with someone else. My prayer over the past couple of months has been for God to awaken my heart with His love. To show me how wide and deep His love is for me, and He has done just that. He has opened the eyes of my heart to see what’s right in font of me, to see His love daily in every situation I encounter.
Ten months ago I shared a verse in my blog that God spoke to me through. The verse Jeremiah 29:13 says, “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” God spoke to me through this verse saying, “My child I have been waiting patiently on you to look for me, I want to give you the life I have planned for you that is infinitely greater than anything you could ever imagine!”
Well He sure has kept His promise! My heart can’t get enough of Him and His lavishing love. Living the life of Christ has been infinitely greater than anything I could ever imagine, and I look forward to seeing and feeling so much more!
God showing love through and to me in Romania
This precious girl stole my heart from day one of meeting her. Every afternoon she greets me with a huge smile and hug. There is something special about working with children that fills my heart with joy. Each month on the race that I have had the opportunity to work with them God has used that month to fill me back up with child like faith.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ Matthew 19:14
This month I have also had the opportunity to go on home visits. We often get to pray over the people, and if they allow us too, we volunteer to clean their homes. One of the women we visited, Valentina, was very closed minded to the idea of having us help her. I was able to connect to her personally when I picked up her wedding photo I was dusting off. I admired the photo and smiled as I told her that she looked beautiful in the picture and is still beautiful today. After this moment her heart was warmed to having us in her home and we couldn’t get her to stop talking!
I’m excited because after this interaction we formed a connection and she has invited us to visit her home again; my MOM will get to meet her during the Parent Vision Trip!
