Where ever you go, there you are…

Now I know just how true that statement actually is!
Jungle life is simple. I never knew life could be SO simple!

I have spent this whole week with my thoughts, discomforts, insecurities, fears and GOD. Seeing the effects
of simplicity: you actually have to deal with things that you always found ways out of dealing with. I always had
a distraction to lose myself in; whether it be food, movies, shopping, internet or just sitting in a busy coffee shop and reading.
I never realized how distracted I was. NOw, I am here, learning to deal with the crap I have put off for so long.

In A.W. Tozer’s book, “The Pursuit of God,” he states, “Right now we are in an age of religious complexity. The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found among us. In its stead are programs, meathods, organizations and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart.”

This could have never rang more true for me than in a place like the jungle where I realize just how restless I really am.
God has brought us here to teach us how to listen; how to lay it all down and just pick Him up instead. How amazing is that!
Sometimes God takes us to the desert so that He can speak His comfort and love to us. He knows that the only real way that we can hear Him is by removing everything that could distract us from finding true intimacy with Him.

Hosea 2:14
Therefore, behold, I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her.

Where is God asking you to go? Are you willing to go if it means that you will lose everything?

My initial answer was no, but God brought me here anyway because He knows what is best for me. Yes, it’s hot and uncomfortable, but GOD IS HERE. His kingdom is here, right now.

Where YOU go I go
What YOU say I say
What YOU pray I pray

This is becoming truth, because of seasons like this. When God takes us to the places we are so scared of, He is doing it to
draw us closer to Himself. There is no one like Him. I can tell you first hand that as soon as I have laid down my junk this week,
God has been right there to pick me up and hold me. Dealing with my junk has simply been me handing it to God and saying, “Here,
I see how ugly this really is. I wish I hadn’t held onto it so long. Please just take it now!” He has every time! Now, simplicity is becoming
easier by the hour. Many times, it’s in the nothing that God shows us everything.

Jesus only did what He saw You do
He would only say what He heard You speak
He would only move when He felt you lead
Following Your heart
Following Your Spirit

How could I expect to walk with You
When every move that Jesus made was in surrender
I will not begin to live without You
For You alone are worthy and You are always good

Where You go I go
What You say I say
What You pray I pray

Though the world sees and soon forgets
We will not forget who You are and what You’ve done for us
