Leaving just might make me cry

 

I had no idea that things would be like this. Life is so beautiful. Living to share Jesus with the world is the only way to live. I wake up every morning excited to see what God has for us to do that day.

We are being taken from one culture to another, given fresh opportunities every day to shine bright and love without restraint. And the only way we can do this is because Jesus lives inside of us.

One major thing I am learning this year is that any good thing I do is useless without God’s love attached; and I really am not able to do anything good and meaningful unless God is doing it through me. He is the source of life, and so many people are seeking life.

This month in the Philippines has changed me. So many people here are lacking so many things, including a true relationship with Jesus. The people who do know Jesus really live for Him. They are sold out and live their lives just for Him. Those that don’t know are willing to sit and listen to anything you have to say. They are hungry for life and peace. They are patient and kind here. They are on what we would call, “Philippino time.” This means that If they say something starts at 1pm, they actually mean it starts about 2pm. You learn to just expect that life moves a little slower, but the people are so happy.

We are leaving the Philippines in a week, and I just might cry. I love this place. Jesus is here and He is ready to bring life! These people are so ready to receive it-and I am dying to bring it!

Last night, we went to a crusade in a little town called Barangay. We got to pray with people, dance with people and just love on them. At the end of the night, they gave people the opportunity to accept Christ, and at least 30 people came forward; many crying out of desperation for God to move in their hearts and bring a lasting change. As we prayed over them, I saw God meeting them with His life. It was amazing!

Even though we are leaving soon, a piece of my heart is going to stay here with the wonderful people! Please continue to pray that God would move and meet people with His satisfying love.
