We were asked to write a blog about what we expect before leaving on this mission trip, here is what I am expecting:
I am expecting to see God move in ways I could never imagine.
I am expecting to see people changed from the inside out.
I am expecting to be changed from the inside out.
I am expecting to be broken over the things that break God’s heart.
I am expecting to miss my family and friends a lot.
I am expecting to be stretched and remolded into His image.
I am expecting to have a lot of really hard days and to also have a lot of really wonderful days.
I am expecting to join in community and grow to love my team.
I am expecting to be scared out of my mind at the things I see.
I am expecting to have to step out of my comfort zone.
I am expecting to cry a lot.
I am expecting to laugh a lot.
I am expecting to fall more in love with Jesus.
I am expecting to have a heart for the lost.
I am expecting to be freed from the comforts I have here.
I am expecting to eat a lot of food I would not normally eat.
I have so many expectations and things I know will be so different. I am really scared that I won’t be the same person when I come back, but I know if I change, it’s because God has done it. So far, these are the things I can think of… There are many more, but I am sure my expectations will be way off from what God actually has! Praise the Lord!
