Jesus said he is the light of the world and through his life he brought light to everyone. Jesus has given us his light – he said we are light to the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

One of my biggest prayers for the World Race is for God's light to shine brightly through me and my team. We will be traveling to and ministering in some of the darkest places in the world. We will be working in red-light districts, in bars, with prostitutes, with girls and women trapped in sex slavery, and with others in their own "dark" situations.
In John 11:9-10, it says, "There are twelve hours of daylight everyday. During the day people can walk safely. They can see because they have the light of this world. But at night, there is danger of stumbling because they have no light."
These places are constantly filled with darkness – there is no light – only evil, fear, shame, hate, guilt, bondage, slavery, etc. Darkness is overpowering the light. They haven't seen the "light at the end of the tunnel". They haven't experienced freedom, warmth, restoration, redemption, love, joy, peace, etc.
However, Jesus promised that if we follow him, we won't have to walk in darkness because we will have the light that leads to life. When light shines in the darkness, the darkness can never extinguish it!! Without light, evil stays hidden. But evil intentions are exposed when the light shines on them; for the light makes everything visible!!

During the Race I want to cast the light of Jesus into the darkness – to extinguish it!!
I want to reveal evil and to make all things visible.
I want to bring life to those who are otherwise dead.
I want to cast the light of Jesus Christ into the dark corners of the world.
I want these people to know they have a choice – they can choose the light over the darkness – they're not alone, Jesus is with them no matter what!! He is lighting up their path and it's pointing to life.
I want to see the captives set free; the dead raised to life; the sick healed to health; the hurting restored.
