Who thought poop could be joyful!

well…..Today, My lovely team and I were told we were going to be doing some kind of manual labor, most likely digging a hole to plant a septic tank and helping with farming. When we arrived on the site, I see a huge pile of cow poop over on the other side of the farm. Miguel our ministry contact said “Well ladies, you will be shoveling that big pile of poo all over the farm today and guys you will be using that pick axe over there”. You would think that would have grossed all of us out and put us all in a cruddy mood, I mean come on..who wants to dig through poop all day! Well my team did!! We were all just so excited to be able to serve! Everything that we did at the farm today involved, sweat, a lava hot sun, a pick axe, sunburn, shovels, cow poop, turning compost, and basically getting everything ready to plant seed. We worked in the heat constantly dripping sweat..but it was all so worth it!! We were able to help with the process of planting crops that will feed all the people who are working with Miguel on his farm and in local churches around the area. We chose to have the spirit of joy while working in the heat today which made all the difference and brought us all closer together as a team. We were all laughing constantly mainly because most of the ladies had never done this kind of labor in our life and it was a pretty funny sight, but we gave it our all with very few complaints! I think I fell in the poop pile over a dozen times, and we all couldn't stop laughing, it was awesome! Knowing that we were planting a seed to greater Gods kingdom filled our hearts with joy and the fact that we had poop all over us didn’t even matter! Sooo in the future, bring on the poop because there is nothing this team can’t handle with Christ living in us!
