Dear family and friends,

I pray this letter finds you well. God has been working out something massive in my life that I’m just eager to share with you. As you may know, in the past year I begun work as a technical writer and copyeditor at a small editing outfit in Cumming, Ga. Working at ProEdit has been a dream. Yet, in the past few months, I have felt a stirring and restlessness in my spirit for something greater.

When I first heard about the World Race, I thought it was amazing, but that was about all the enthusiasm I could muster for it. I was way too daunted by the length of it and how much money was involved. So I tried to forget about it, but God wasn’t having any of that. In the weeks following my exposure to the Race, it became like a second shadow. It clung to me with such fierce tenacity. So after much prayer and a fair amount of tears, I applied and was welcomed as a Racer in December of last year.

The World Race is an 11-month journey to 11 countries to publish peace and bring the good news of salvation through Christ Jesus. My specific route starts in September 2014 and will take me to India, Nepal, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, China, Mongolia, and the Philippines. I’m desperate to fully accomplish all that has been set before me through the grace of God, and this is where you come in.

  • Please partner with me prayerfully. The Race is perhaps the most difficult thing I will have done thus far, but I’m unshakeable in my belief that it is what I’m meant to do in this season of my life. Please pray for me, my team, and the countries we’ll be visiting. Pray too that God will equip and send forth workers for the vast harvest before us.
  • Please partner with me financially. I need to raise a total of $16,254 to cover all my expenses on the field. It’s not a small amount, but we serve a big God—the biggest! This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation. If 30 people pledge $45 for 12 months, I will be fully funded for the Race.

I have included a response card inviting you to share in this ministry. This response card is specific to me, so kindly include it with your donation. You can make checks payable to Adventures in Missions and return them to this address:

I’m mad with excitement about how much God is going to wreck and renew me through this experience. I can’t wait to share my Savior’s love with all the souls we’ll encounter who are just thirsty for Him. Please follow along with me on this journey by subscribing to my blog (listed above). Thank you in advance for being a source of immense blessing in my life through your prayers and financial support. God bless you richly as you consider partnering with me in this amazing ministry.

With all my love,

Karen
