Can you believe it is the middle of October? I cannot believe I have been away from home for almost 10 months! This has been a crazy, awesome, hard, fantastic, life-changing year. But like all good things, my time on the Race is quickly coming to an end. We have found out when we are coming home, a because of some delays beyond anyone’s control, we have found out kind of late. We have a lovely member of our squad whose job before the Race was with an airline. He has informed us that booking a ticket 45 days before arriving ensures better ticket prices. Because of this delay in finding out our arrival date and city, I am rapidly approaching the deadline to the 45 day mark. Here is the dilemma, I have no money. Yep, I have approximately $0 in my bank account, so as of this moment I cannot buy my ticket home.
I could really use your help getting home. The flights I am looking at are going to cost about $170 plus $25-$50 to check my pack. (There is no way I cannot check my big pack, as much as I wish that was an option) I am looking at flights on Southwest and JetBlue, which both offer to have 1 free checked bag, but from what I have seen I may be able to get a cheaper flight on another airline. Another option I have is if you have any frequent flyer miles you can give me, I can find a ticket that way.
The fastest way to give is through PayPal because I can transfer that right into my bank account and then purchase the ticket from there.
