What does it look like to make a joyful noise?

Is it a room of youth jumping and dancing around with such a passion for Jesus that you would think they were at a concert for the biggest music act around?

Can a joyful noise be found in sharing your story with a room of at risk boys?
Can you find a joyful noise in an upper room in a school with 7 people lying on their sleeping mats after a long day talking about what Jesus did for them that day?

Is a joyful noise found when the homeless man you are trying to get to come and get food begins to recite scripture and finally, after a year of being asked, comes and learns more about Jesus and gets a hot plate of food?
Does a joyful noise look like a room of hipsters rocking out and praying for more of the Holy Spirit?
Is a joyful noise find when a student learning English has her light bulb moment and the smile on her face tells you she is beginning to understand how this all comes together?
What about just one person, sitting in a room alone, thanking God for choosing her to go on the trip of a lifetime to help HIS people?
If you asked me, I would say all of these are examples of a joyful noise. If you did not know, I have spent the last week without my IPod. God asked me to give it up for this week and me deciding to obey his request has been one of the biggest blessings on this trip so far. I am able to focus more on what is going on around me and ask God to reveal what he sees in these situations. I have been able to learn to get my joy from the Lord instead of from the people back home.
I am learning that anything that brings HIM glory is a joyful noise.
So what are you waiting for? Go make a joyful noise to the Lord. I promise you will not be upset if you do.

Life in Costa Rica is coming to a close. We leave here next Saturday and head to Nicaragua. I only have about a short time before my next deadline and I am still $2892 short of my next goal. I know God is going to provide, because He has made it very evident that this is where I am supposed to be. I also know He is going to use all of you to help me get there. If you have been following my journey and have wanted to give, now is the time. Even if it is only $11, everything helps. I appreciate everyone who has given to get me to where I am now. It really means so much to me.
If you would like to give just click the “Support Me” link on the left side of the blog and follow the instructions.
