Ireland…. The second half…

After the first week at Bray I have been living in community with another World Race team and a couple named Jim and Kathy.  Jim and Kathy are full time evanglists who passionately seek the Lord.  They run a house for foster care children (3 of whom live there now) and the rest of the time they evangelise.
Both Jim and Kathy are very giving and full of energy.  I would say the Jim likes to take the Gospel with him everywhere he goes.  He enjoys initiative evanglism and strikes up conversations about God on a daily basis with anyone in hear shot.  His heart is truly seeking after the Lord and spreading His word.
Kathy has a heart for the Irish Travelers.  The travelers are a group of people who are outcasted by society in Ireland.  Many people think that they are scary or mean but in reality they aren’t.  Kathy has taken many people out to give bread and clothing to the travelers and talk to them about Christ.  She also enjoys door to door evanglism where she offers free Christian Calendars in hopes to strike up a conversation about God.  Her heart too truly is seeking after the Lord and spreading His word.
While staying at this house I have learned the ministry can look very different they what I had always invisioned.  My ministry for most of this month has been to serve my fellow World Race team and Jim and Kathy.  I have been able to do this by preparing meals, setting and clearing the table, dishes, cooking deserts, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, pealing many many potatoes and apples, watching after the foster kids, laundry and various other tasks.
At first it can be a little bit of a struggle to find where the ‘ministry’ is at in those activities, they are just chores, right?  True, they may be just chores but who cares?  If we are seeking Christ in EVERYONE and wanting to serve Him through everything we do they why can’t it be through chores too?  It can be and I am learning that I am not ‘serving’ just ANYONE, I am serving Christ . . .  WOW! Think about that for a second . . . Everything I do, everything YOU do, YOU DO IT FOR CHRIST . . . Christ paid such a huge price for us, so me spending time doing ‘chores’ that I don’t always want to do, barely comes close to the price He paid for me.
LOVE!
