We have had the chance to venture out in the city of Port-Au-Prince to
experience the devastation that this country has been experiencing
since the Earthquake in January.  I tried pretty hard to get video of
the city to show what living conditions are like as well as the
destruction that struck the city.  Some of the hospitals were destroyed
and many people are in need of medical attention.  You will see quickly
in the video that the hospitals are made out of tents and people are
lined down the streets waiting for medical attention.  So many people
are becoming sick quickly due to the living conditions they are exposed
to.

Every few blocks there are tons and tons of tents popped up side by
side with no room to barely walk as a means of shelter.  Disease is
easily spread through these areas.  On top of this people are angry
here. Riots break out very often and people take out their anger on one
another.  Many women and children are being raped in the tent cities.
There are parts of the city where people are so angry that workers in
certain buildings are told by their bosses to not even go outside to
get a drink of water because gang violence and anger is raging there.

I really hope that this video will put the country of Haiti on your
heart and help you to visually understand what living here looks like
for many people.  Keep in mind, this whole country was changed in a
mere 37 seconds, probably in about the amount of time it takes you to
read this blog, over 320,000 people died and destruction claimed this
country.  All of this footage is of Port-Au-Prince and the music is
actually the orphans singing a song from their daily evening
devotions.  Let me know what you think.

LOVE!
