After riding in the back of a truck fenced in with bars to the Orphanage last night we were excited to see our home for the month. It is absolutely amazing. We are staying in the orphanage in the guest rooms. We each have our own bed, the founders are from Ohio, the children speak some English, there are fans! Lol it is awesome.
Right now there are about 60ish kids in the orphanage. Usually there are about 125 but with the Earthquake, adoptions that were in the process were able to have the children go live with their “in the process” parents until everything is finalized.
I feel like this month is going to be fairly hard on me emotionally. I have been here for less then 24 hours and have almost cried a handful of times!!! My heart just breaks for these kids and the fact that they need a home and parents. I want to give them all of my love! About an hour ago I finished up playing with some of the babies.
Julia is the one I played with the most. I fed her a bottle and then she fell asleep while I rocked her. (Ya mom! You would LOVE IT HERE!) Free reign of holding and playing with babies and children. All these kids are loved but still need attention. I am almost 100% positive that God is opening my eyes up to adoption and taking in children who need homes.
This month we are going to be focussing on preparing a house for teenage/young women who have no place to go and may have been in sex trafficking or abuse. The house is supposed to open Sept. 1st and has just been rented. Which means that we will be working our butts off this month to see this project started. These women will be put into 3 different programs so they can be able to make a living for themselves. These programs are learning to be a nanny, secretary, and nurses. I am excited to see how much work we will be able to accomplish in a month!!
Please pray for these children here at the orphanage that I can’t get enough of already. They need homes and have been exposed to some crazy things. Some were active in Voo Doo, abuse, and slavery. Some saw their parent get murdered. A few of the children have hydrocephalus and others have disabilities. Let’s pray them into the hearts of wonderful parents!
LOVE!
