Hey Everyone!!!! I’m Kara Graham, for those of you who don’t know me! I am from Climax, Michigan and am 23 years old. Just wanted to share with you a little about myself. I grew up in the same town and the same house for all of my life with my parents and 3 siblings. I have an older brother, Lance (25years old), younger sister, Sabrina (20years old), and a younger brother, Tanner (16years old). I recently graduated from Trine University in Angola, IN where I earned a B.S. in Health Promotions and Recreational Programming and a minor in Athletic Training.

Ever since I can remember I have gone to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Vicksburg, MI. This was where my faith journey began. As a young child I participated in Sunday Schools, Vacation Bible School, Alter Serving, and even helping out in the nursery!! As I got older I wanted to get more involved and decided to attend a mission trip called Catholic HEART Work Camp. The summer after my 7th grade year I went for the first time on this week long mission trip. I have been back EVERY summer since!!! I went 8 years as a camper where I would go and help the poor community in the area we traveled to by doing anything and everything. I did things from painting and scraping, to insulating a house, to playing with children to cleaning houses and yards and anything else you can imagine. At night we would go back to the camp area and have praise and worship along with some fun and interactive activities. The past two summers I got even more involved with Catholic HEART Work Camp by becoming a staff member.

As a staff member I worked behind the scenes for all the campers who came to serve as I did for so many years. I helped organize and put out all the tools that the campers would need in order to do their particular service project. At night I participated in skits and different character activities to entertain the campers. I also gave my testimony to the campers. Catholic HEART Work Camp inspired me to do more mission work which is why I have decided to go on The World Race!!! I’m very excited and can’t wait to see where God takes me!!!!!
