***You know your in Chiang Mai when…***

– You can get your nose pierced by a 15 year old girl working in the  mall at the small fee of 50 Baht ($1.75)…

– You need an extra seat on the Tuk Tuk?  No worries, just place a rug on top of the battery beside the driver and it makes for a fun ride…

– All of the locals give you directions in confidence..  Only they all point you in different directions.. and after trying all of them..  You finally realize “None of them were right”

–  When trying to say someones name you feel like an instrument..  Ming, Mai, Ching, Ping, Ging…

 – Instead of “OMG”..  It’s “Oh my Buddha”

– Not only was “James Bond” my tour guide at Angkor Wat, He was also my tour guide for zip lining…

– When told that Darci ate fig jam as a child.. The tour guide than went on to ask her if that is why she is so big….

Being that it is the week of the Songkran festival you either wear a full body water suit or you just plan on being soaked..

– When shooting someone with a water gun in The States we would
say Boom Boom, or Pow Pow… Apparently here it is ‘Beep Beep”

– You have finally realized why there are tissues on your table instead of napkins when the Pad Thai is so hot your nose starts running out of control…

– When asking for a toilet you are directed to a room that ONLY contains a ceramic bowl, a water hose and a huge trash can full of water…

– Instead of honey mustard with your nuggets, the local McDonalds serves Plum sauce..

– When 5 Tuk Tuk drivers can convince 1 American girl to hang out  with them and throw water at people in passing…

– When the Tuk Tuk driver is shoving whiskey in your face in confidence that you will love it..

–  Somehow you are ALWAYS the lucky first customer of the day…

– The salesperson usually starts out with “American’s are bigger” than goes on to hand you the largest size in the stack, and even points out  the elastic band on the inside because from her opinion you will need it even bigger..  : )

– Almost everything you could want is in this city, but there are some really important pieces missing.. Like one awesome Red Head, One amazing Jungle Girl, The best team leader ever, Freida Froba and one fabulous girl who is a local to every country : )  I love you blingers!

I hope this gives you a little more insight to Chiang Mai through my eye’s..  It is only the 2nd week, so stay tuned… Im sure I will have  many more : )  I absolutely love everything about Thailand!!
