Post – PVT

This morning I said goodbye to my mom and then caught an Uber with my squad mates to the train station. We are now back in Dragonesti-Olt and I have finished packing my stuff in my new airporter (I SENT MY BIG PACK HOME!!!!). I am officially ready to head to Sofia, Bulgaria tomorrow morning for our 3 day debrief before we enter Month 10.

The rest of PVT was amazing. Tuesday, after spending the morning with my mom visiting a grocery store and getting ice cream at a cafe, we went to a park for ministry. Ministry included cleaning up the park from all the litter on the ground and then spending a couple hours with kids from different villages leading them to different stations that involved either memorizing a Bible verse to hearing a Bible story to playing various games.

My favorite parts of this ministry was watching my mom jump right in and love on the kids even though we couldn’t communicate in any way with each other and then at the end when we had a picnic with them and Andy (a squad-mate we were partnered with for this ministry) and I were able to share the Gospel with one of our boys through a translator.

Yesterday, my mom and I (along with other PVT Racers and their parents) loaded onto buses or vans and headed to Bucharest. We arrived at the hotel around 12:30, and then headed out to explore the city around 2. My mom and I used the hop on hop off city bus tour to be able to see the sites of the city and it was perfect. We were able to hop off at different locations and see the beautiful buildings like the Cec Palace and the Palace of Parliament, as well as eat at a restaurant in Old City and see the mall that they have there.

We wound off the day with dinner at our hotel and it was just a really good day.

So, now I am sitting in the Mission House in Dragonesti for my last afternoon/evening before leaving month 9. It’s crazy! In 60 days I’ll be back in the States and that really kind of blows me away. I know that it’s going to fly by and I’ll be back. Definitely a nerve wracking thought.

In a few days, after Bulgaria, my team will be headed to Korce, Albania and I’ll have more details on what ministry will look like there to follow soon.

Till Next Time,

Kara Faber

P!S! – Please be in prayer as my mom and other Racer Parents will be traveling home today and tomorrow. My mom will not get back to Roanoke till Saturday so she has some long travel days ahead of her.
