PVT Part 2

Today was the second day of ministry and it involved an hour and a half drive to another city in the Transylvania district of Romania. This city is called Criaova and it is a very dark place spiritually.

Ultimately, all of Romania is a spiritually dark country. Only 0.02% of 1% of Romanian’s are believers. In Criaova there are now two full time missionary families there and a couple of part time missionaries there, but it is a hard ministry.

Most Romanians are not receptive to the Gospel or even talking about it. They are orthodox or Gypsy and in a lot of it they are caught up with witch craft. Like I said it is an extremely hard culture.

So today, after we arrived in Criaova and had lunch, we loaded our arms with several New Testament Bibles and each Racer with their parent and a translator went into the park right outside the Mall for just thirty minutes trying to hand out Bibles to people and engage them in conversation.

Many people shook their head and would say “No, no, no” or just rush on by. But there were several who took it and would ask “Are you with Jehovah Witness?” This broke my heart because as Christians we are wanting to spread Kingdom but there are not enough of us going out and declaring and sharing. The one’s doing so are the Jehovah Witnesses and the Mormons.

To this question we would say “no, we are not. We are Christians from the States and we are wanting to share with you about how you can have a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Most of the time when I’d go up to someone I would say “Biblia pentru tina” which is Romanian for “Bible for you” and I would still get the same reactions.

(I just want to say right now though that it was an incredible thing to witness all of the parents of the Racers choosing to jump in to this ministry. This is a ministry that is even hard for Racers to do. It’s constant rejection and you’re not going to see the fruit of what you’re doing right away – SO PROUD)

After these thirty minutes our group walked to the university that is in the city and did a prayer walk around the campus. We prayed for so many things. I know some of my big prayers was that God would just open these people’s eyes and ears to what He wants them to hear and see. That he’d use the sound of the birds and the traffic to speak into people’s lives and draw them to Him through that.

One Racer’s parent prayed that two professors would come to know Christ and that the university would host a Bible study ON campus.

These are big prayers, but we’ve learned to pray big and bold prayers these past nine months because we know we serve a great and mighty God who can do so much more than we could ever imagine.

After our prayer walk we went into neighborhoods and passed out more Bibles or placed them in mailboxes or on people’s gates.

It was an incredible day of ministry and it was also a very tiring day of ministry. I know that myself and my mom are exhausted from todays events. And I didn’t even tell you what happened from 6pm to 9pm.

I just want to thank you all for sending me on this journey. I have said that many times, but I truly wouldn’t be here without you all and your support. Without you, I wouldn’t have had this incredible opportunity of doing mission work with my mom and that is an experience I’m never going to forget.

Till Next Time,
