Meet my friend, Mandla

Mandla is one of the older boys at the Sandra Jones Center. Over the course of my time at the SJC, Mandla and I became good friends. He was in the group of kids who my team mate Meagan and I taught dance to. Throughout the day I would see him playing with the other kids and he’d always stop and run up to me to give me a hug.

On one particular day the power was out and the teacher for their class was on vacation. My teammates and I chaperoned their class in the Hall (the great room at the center) and while playing Mandla got kicked in his rib cage on accident. He wasn’t injured, but it did hurt and through the time that came after the incident Mandla stayed by my side.

This is just one other of the many kids that my team worked with this past month. They all will take a hold of your heart and they all need so much love.

In order for the center to run and provide for the many kids that it does it needs sponsors. Specifically, the children need sponsors. In order for them to have food, clothes and the ability to get a good education each child needs a sponsor.

Many organizations ask for people to sponsor kids and sometimes it’s hard to know if the money we send truly go to benefit the kids. The Sandra Jones Center I can absolutely say goes to provide for the children.

Please prayerfully consider sponsoring Mandla or one of his many friends at the SJC.
