Hello! First things first! Welcome to my blog! This definitely isn’t a typical blog (I’m definitely no blogger, but things can change), but hopefully through it you will get to see and learn a bit more about me. Here’s something about me, this is my first blog post ever! My goal is to keep you all informed, but also to share things that I’m learning along the way.

In these last few months I have been in search of a steady job. About a month ago I decided to go through a weekend of fasting in order to seek God’s will for my future. I realized that how I had been going about my search did not include God and I wanted to devote myself to Him and for His will for my life. In the past when I thought about seeking God’s will for me, it felt more I only considered that future and not right now. During that weekend of fasting, however, I asked God where He wanted me in this moment and in my future. I gave the reigns of my life to Him and in so doing started feeling led to missions.

I want to first say that I believe that everyone is called to missions, but that missions is going to look different for every individual. Not everyone is called to go overseas and minister and preach the gospel. A lot are called to be missionaries to our next door neighbors, our co-workers and our family. We are called to both preach and to give. To give our time in helping those who do go overseas, to give financial support and also to be in prayer. The call to missions and that feeling of being led there was not something that was new to me. I have felt that call at different times of my life, but I had not taken the time to seek God to know how this was to look. This time it was different. I was ready to listen to God and go where He wanted me to go. I felt God leading me to go globally in missions and to serve Him fully in that way.

Because of that I dived deeper into God’s word and in my personal walk with Him. There are so many passages that impacted me during this time, but I will share only two with you. The first is Romans 10:13-14 “for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How, then, may they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” The second passage that spoke to my heart is Malachi 1:11 “My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations.” There are many passages in Scripture that tell us to share the good news with others.

A lot of you may be wondering what the World Race is, what I will be doing, where I will be going, etc. First of all, the World Race is not an organization of itself, but is a program sponsored by Adventures in Missions. Adventures in Missions runs many other short term programs in addition to the World Race. The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program. This program is designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel in many ways. Planting churches, working in orphanages, and teaching english are among the few ways that we will be ministering to the many tribes and nations. I will be leaving October 1st, 2016 to go to Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines, Romania, Albania, Greece, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Ukraine.

I will face many challenges throughout the World Race journey. One of the greatest challenges I face as I prepare for my departure is raising the funds necessary for my financial support. Like most other mission organizations, World Race participants are required to provide the funding needed to support their participation in the program. My mission group departs October 1, 2016, and to be fully supported, I need to raise $18,561.00, of which $2,000 will cover any personal expenses needed to prepare me for the trip; medical expenses, purchasing gear for the trip, etc.

As I take this huge step of faith, letting God take control of my life, I ask more than ever for your help and support. You can help me in two very important ways: First, and most important, I ask for your prayers. That I will continue to seek God’s will and fully rely on Him. And, secondly, after allowing for my daily living expenses, I will put all my remaining funds towards this trip. But I know I can’t do this on my own. So I ask for your consideration in supporting me financially. Would you prayerfully consider joining me with your financial support of $100, or whatever amount God has laid upon you to give?

Below I have listed several official deadlines I have to meet in order to continue on with the World Race.

July 27th: $5,000
September 15th: $5,000 (A total of $10,000)
November 30th: $3,000 (A total of $13,000)
January 31st: $3,561 (A total of $16,561)

This amount sounds so huge and unreachable for me right now, but I know that if this is God’s calling for me, He will provide. I am reminded of the verse in Matthew 6:31-32, “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.”

I would like to, again, as for your prayers for both me, my teammates and the people that we meet during this 11-month journey. Please pray for safety and good health, and that the Lord’s hand will be on all of us during this time.

Thank you for your support both financially and spiritually. I look forward to this journey and in sharing it with all of you.

Till next time!
