#3-Pastor J Spurling- I recently met Pastor J when he became the new pastor at Fulton Alliance Church. I actually got to know his wife, Karen, first. I was going through a difficult time in my life when they came to the church, and Karen was very supportive of me. I began going to the connect group that she started for college and career age adults. The Spurling family has always made me feel like I was a part of their family. When I was considering going on the World Race, Pastor J helped me weigh the cost. When I finally decided to apply, he gave his full support in it. I truly enjoy listening to Pastor J speak to his congregation every Sunday. His sermons aren’t just ones that sound great, he has a purpose behind each message. A message that urges us to cast off sin and to grow deeper in our relationship with Christ. He calls us to unite as a body of Christ and to hold one another accountable. I especially love how he delights in what he does and how he boldly confesses his sins, leading by example how we are called to live. When I come to his house, I have a hard time pulling myself away, because he and Karen are such a delight to talk with. The thing that I like most about him, is that he looks at my brokenness and yet still sees a woman of God that can and will be used in amazing ways to further the kingdom of God. For most of my life people have had a hard time seeing my potential, always being stuck on my limitations. He is a wonderful example of a man of God that I am grateful to have as my pastor. Thank you Pastor J for humbling yourself and allowing God to open your eyes to see what he sees. May the enemy never have a foothold in your life, causing you to stray from God.
