3-2-1 BLAST OFF!!!
The countdown for launch is over! I left Traverse City, Michigan on Wednesday, September 5th and headed to Chicago where I launched for The World Race! I was reunited with "K" squad! My family! My brothers and sisters in Christ! Excitement filled the air and the hotel as we were all so anxious to begin this new journey together. Living life on the race in Chicago for a few days before flying to MALAYSIA was luxurious! Hotel beds, fluffy pillows, hot showers, oatmeal, PB&J, and some extra time with my parents(since they had their own parent launch to attend). Knowing that these little things in life would soon not be so accessible was sad, but I was so ready to get this show on the road and see what other foods I would eat, people I would meet and how God would use me, make me, mold me and stretch me!
Alicia Houghten , Tyler Schipper, Ryan Bentch, Libby Bliss, Raven Hyman, Timothy Larson and myself make up team Joyful Feet! We are headed to Gua Musang, Malaysia to bunk in a hostel and teach English to children and adults! Using creative games, songs and activities we shall help these wonderful people of Malaysia to have a better vocabulary in English!
Saturday, September 7th, 2012 was the day we had all been waiting for! At 3:25 p.m. we boarded a Cathay Pacific plane and we were up, up & away to MALAYSIA! With a 5 hour lay over in Hong Kong, excitement filled the air as we all waited in anticipation to grab another plane to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
TOUCH DOWN!!!! The big joke with The World Race is that we hurry up and wait! So that's what we shall do today! HURRY and arrive to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and WAIT for 12 hours to take an 11 hour train ride to Gua Musang, our ministry location.
