The naming of this post is completely ironic because for me, fundraising has been far from fun or easy but the process has truly been a chance for me to share not only the gospel but also what the Lord has been doing in my life and why I felt called to the race.
I’ve been working to support myself for as long as I can remember because independence was a core value in my family and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. However, its also led to some stubbornness and pride when it comes to asking for help — especially financially. The Race, even before its started has helped break down those barriers as I ask friends, family and even people I barely know – to come along side me and sew into my journey.
It’s finally all clicked, that going on this mission has never been about me so why keep asking for support to myself. Not only do I need help, but I want it. I would love the opportunity to share this journey with each of you and that months down the road if i’m ever feeling discouraged, I can look back and see each persons contribution and know that they not only believe in me, but also my team and each of the people we’ll be serving.
I can honestly say I never thought I would call myself a missionary – but God has been tugging at my heart since the moment he got ahold of me, calling me to travel and make his name known. Its been a slow process, he’s taught me to be patient and wait for his timing, he’s had to constantly reminded me to prioritize, to place him above everything and everyone I know and love, pushed me outside of my comfort zones and encouraged me to grow, to evolve into the person he truly created me to be.
From the way the Race was introduced to me, through the application and interview process, up to meeting my squad mates and prepping both at REI and through my communities, I know that this path has been strategically designed for me by God. He has taking every selfish, prideful part of me and allowed me to humble myself and ask for help as I bring the truth of his name to the nations.

I NEED YOUR HELP!!
One of the hardest challenges I will be faced with is to fundraise the amount of my trip. To fulfill my total before I leave this September, I will need to raise $16,254. While this seems like a lot of money, this will include all my food, lodging, travel between countries, organizational fees, and insurance if anything were to happen along the way. So I ask, if my story speaks to you in any way please help me reach my goal. AND all credit/debit or check donations are tax deductible! I have such a desire to help, but I can’t do it without each and every one of you! Along with financial support, I would love to have your spiritual support as well. Prayers are so greatly appreciated while I take this leap of faith with the Lord.
Here’s a little break down of how you can donate!
