Favorite Word: “cheeste” meaning- just joking
Favorite Food: PASTEL – Vanessa’s amazing cake that she taught me how to make. All you in the states, be ready because I have the recipe!
Verse of the month: Joshua 8:18- “Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Point the spear in your hand toward Ai, for I will hand the town over to you.” Joshua did as he was commanded.”.
1st Favorite God experience: One day we went to the market and ended up sitting the grass talking to 4 hippies about Jesus. We got feathers woven in our hair, walked on a tight rope in between two trees, was proposed to… but above all, loved God’s people. In those moments, I thought, “This is what I want my life to be about. Living freely and loving freely… All because the great price was paid”.
2nd Favorite God Experience: I have had the honor of praying over a man with no legs every Sunday. His legs haven’t grown yet, but his heart has. He used to say, “Why God!? Why did you do this to me!?”. Now the only words he can utter while I pray is, “Thank you Daddy. I believe in you”.
Cultural Moment: I walked into a bathroom stall, forgetting that the toilet paper is on the wall outside the bathroom, and was forced to wipe myself with a piece of used toilet paper in the trash bin. I have never wanted shower so bad in my life.
Our Ministry: We learned that while our ministry here was to build the new church and play with children, our primary ministry was to pray for the people and the spiritual warfare taking place here.
Ecuador has been more than amazing… I will miss my family here greatly. I have had so many laughs, tears, and prayers answered in this land. Ecuador will always hold a special place in my heart. Lives have been changed. Love has been shared. And memories have been made.
