This week our squad leaders came and lived life with our team for a few days.  We learned so much from their guidance and were constantly being encouraged to push out of our comforts.  One thing that really stuck out to me was how encouraging they were and how they gently pushed us to be bolder in our faith.

Something one of our squad leaders told us to consider was that yes, people are going to stare at us because we dress funny, have a very different color of skin compared to them, we have lighter hair and we speak differently than them.  They are not always attracted to people that are so different than them.  The reason we feel like we are in a zoo, the reason why they are always coming near us is because we have Jesus in us.  We have Something that draws them closer.  A prime example of this was when we were at the top of a mountain having some team time and all these boys followed us up.  We were just talking but once we started praying they instantly surrounded us.  I never thought about life this way, every time we pray or talk about Jesus, sing worship songs, or do ministry, people instantly swarm around us and follow us around.  They are attracted to the Jesus that lives in us.  This was a huge wake up call for me because even though I came on the Race to serve Jesus and be the hands and feet of Jesus, I became consumed in myself.  It is not about me.  It is ALWAYS about Jesus.

ALWAYS.
