Good Day Beautiful Family and Friends!

One of the many questions that come up when talking about the World Race is "What are you most excited for?"
It took me a while to find a response to that question because for one, I am so terrified that 11 months is actually 11 months and two, that it is almost time to depart!  But, I have to remember why I said YES to what God called me to do in the first place!  It is to be His Hands and Feet, to share His Love, to spread the Good News, to live in community with one another and so much more is in store for us all!  I want to be the daughter that says "Here am I! Send me!" I don't want to just sit in a comfortable life style waiting for the "what's next in this American life?" when I want to experience God in the moment, to follow Him in all that I do, to get dirty and uncomfortable only to get lost in Him!

So a list of the things that I am most excited for are:

  • to finally get to meet the people I have we have all been praying for all year and to get to finally love on them face to face!!
  • to travel the world through this crazy and unique opportunity!
  • to get dirty
  • to be uncomfortable only to grow more
  • to have crazy adventures
  • to build a family with people I probably would not have chosen to build a family with
  • to experience God in a whole new way
  • to tell others that they are beautiful!
  • to be completely broken down
  • for change
  • to see God move and heal not only the physically sick, but the spiritual
  • to surrender all that I know and am

I am so excited.  I can't believe it is almost here.

Psalm 139:13-18

For it was You who created my inward parts;
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You
because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful,
and I know this very well.
My bones were not hidden from You
when I was made in secret,
when I was formed in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw me when I was formless;
all my days were written in Your book and planned
before a single one of them began.
God, how difficult Your thoughts are
for me to comprehend;
how vast their sum is!
If I counted them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand;
when I wake up, I am still with You.

These verses were on my mind a lot this week as my family vacationed in San Diego.  We went to a different beach every day we were here and every time I would sit in the sand and hold up a handful and just look at all the different grains of sand.  If each grain represents how many times God thinks about me, about anyone, it is beyond crazy!  AND THEN!! To look down at the beach and think about all the grains of sand there are and just on that beach!  I cannot fathom that thought at all!  How incredible!  Our God is crazy about each and every one of us!  And that His thoughts outnumber the grains of sand!  Oh my goodness.  I am excited to share that news with some girl that is feeling alone, unloved or hurt.

Family and friends, I am so thankful for each and every one of you for helping this become real.  You are all a blessing.

Prayer: For the hearts of people across the world to be opened, to really make the most of each day at home and on the Race, to remember the "why" instead of the "11 months is a really long time" (when in fact, it is not long at all), to keep pursuing God.

Song: Pandora Station "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" is the "song" of the blog post this time.  I can't choose just one.

Verse: Psalm 139:13-18

I love you all, dearly!
