Trusting people wasn’t really my forte. I was always on guard with people, and when they had the opportunity to earn my trust and ruined it, it was hard for me to trust them again. Throughout my life people have used me, mistreated me, and disappointed me..so then I assume that everyone else is like that, including God. I compare Him to people, assuming that He’ll disappoint me like everyone else did, but He’s not a person. HE’S GOD. He’s a perfect, soveriegn, forgiving, trustworthy God! I have to stop relying on my own understanding and put all of my trust in God or He can’t work in me or through me. Because His thoughts are higher and His ways are better, and His plans are far beyond better for me than I could ever hope for them to be. We as people want to have control of our future and our lives but it’s not in our control, it’s in God’s control. And we need to accept that we can’t rely on our own understanding.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5,6)

LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. We as imperfect, sinful humans want everything to go our way and think that we are all that we need to suceed in life. But honestly we can’t do anything. Not without God. We submit ourselves to God and fully understand that He is the reason for our hope and strength, He will make our paths straight. God is loving and patient, and He is waiting for us to trust Him and give Him complete control over our lives. Don’t worry! God’s got your back!
