Romans 5:3-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Each of them with their own story and dreams for the future. They each have a hope for their future – a hope and a dream that humbles me but has encouraged me to dream. To dream big! To not be afraid of disappointment but to know that I go through each trial for a reason. To make me stronger, wiser, and hopefully a little more like Christ, so that His dreams and desires may become my dreams and desires. So dream and dream big!
Traveling is always an adventure. This time we started on a bus at 10pm from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. I tried to sleep but failed miserably. We arrived at the airport around 5am for our 11am flight. I slept for 30 minutes on the tile floor. It was glorious. (if this sounds sarcastic, its not meant to be… it was!) We then flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for an 8-hour layover. It was Easter, so we had worship, preaching, and prayer. Mary B. and I had tea in our dresses at Harrods in honor of Easter brunch. We then boarded our 10pm flight to Hyderabad, India in hopes that no one would be turned around and deported due to a lack of transport visas. We all lucked out and had babysitters opposed to being deported. It was there that we boarded our third flight to Dubai, U.A.E. We were so close! We spent about 4 hours there and finally boarded for our flight to Nairobi! So much anticipation, so much excitement! I think we all grow up wanting to experience the Lion King in someway. This was my way and I wouldn’t have it any other.
After landing in Nairobi we were greeted so warmly though the temperature had dropped about 25 degrees (Fahrenheit). It was so green and so refreshing! After loading the bus, we drove for about 2 minutes before we saw our first herd of zebras and it was then that it finally sunk in that I really was in Africa!
Welcome to Africa!
