Keep Calm and Graduate…I should probably be writing my last and final paper of my undergraduate degree, but I'm in desperate need of more coffee and motivation. Its that feeling that you get when you are clearly on empty and you are hoping to get those last 5 miles just to make it to the gas station.  But, I cannot believe that I am graduating in 3 days! I have no idea where the time went! Wasn't it yesterday that I was graduating from high school? Looking back, these past four years have been one unforgettable rollercoaster ride and it has been fun and entertaining! I would like to thank my parents for being so amazingly supportive over these past four years; from moving be to Billings, MT and moving me back 9 months later, letting me live with them despite my messy tendencies 😉 and being ever so patient with me.

Keep Calm and Fundraise…I am officially, 100% immersed in fundraising. It has been hard to keep my mind focused with school and everything else going on, but I am constantly thinking about fundraising, whether its driving in my car, hanging out with my friends, during runs, or just sitting on the computer. I just want to get  people involved in this experience! What does fundraising look like for me? Currently, my fundraising campaigns (that's the marketer in me) include:

  1. Go Green and Support Kaitlyn – If you would please set aside all aluminum cans for me, I would be more than grateful! I am trying to accumulate as many as possible to turn in for the funds to go towards my World Race!
  2. Applebee's Breakfast – On June 30th, I will be serving breakfast at the Federal Way Applebee's! The cost of breakfast is $10! Please contact me to get your tickets prior to the big day! 🙂 There will be a few awesome raffle baskets as well!
  3. Garage Sale – On July 7th and 8th, I will be having a huge garage sale! If you would like to get that stuff that has been taking up that extra space in the garage, please let me know! All items in decent condition are welcomed!
  4. Parents Night Out! – This is tentatively set and I will let you know as soon as its confirmed. That said, I will be babysitting for a donation on Saturday June 23rd from 5 to 10pm. I know how hard it is for you parents to find the time to enjoy yourselves without the kids. Location to be announced soon!
  5. If you are just looking for some extra help around the house-cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, weed pulling, or anything else you can think of. I would love to work for any donations!

I am sure you are wondering where all this money goes! After reading a few blogs I was able to find information about the funds I raise towards the ministry I will be doing from September 2012 to August 2013. $15,500 is by no means pocket change and as I put on events, seek donations, and ask for support from those around me, I want you all to know how Adventure in Missions disperses the money I receive.  So here is the information I found about where all the money goes…

My 65% covers the following:

  • $4,235 for our intercontinental travel for the year
  • $460 per month, broken down as:

    • $3.75 per day for food
    • $5.25 per day for lodging
    • $3.00 per day for transport
    • $3.33 per day for long distance travel (buses, trains) and miscellaneous supplies

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Here are our the fundraising deadlines for the September 2012 World Race:

  • $3,500 – Due 07/01/2012 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
  • $6,500 – Due 08/16/2012 (2 weeks prior my trip)
  • $11,000 – Due 12/01/2012 (End of 3 months on the field)
  • $15,500 – Due 03/01/2013 (End of 6 months on the field)

Ideally I would like to have all of my support raised before I leave the country in September. It would allow me to put all of my energy towards the work I will be doing for God's Kingdom in other countries without having to put any energy towards fundraising while I am overseas.
