1. School buses are not just used for transportation to school – they can also be used as an extremely uncomfortable form of hostel for 50 full-grown adults.
2. Showers really are overrated.
3. You learn to appreciate the small things, such as a real bed (and we didn’t even have it as bad as other training camps…)
4. In WR (World Race) community, you can smell like B.O., have greasy hair, and be wearing the same shirt as you did the day before – and the day before that – and you will still have friends! Nobody will judge you for your bad hygiene because they’ll all be just as gross as you!
5. If you didn’t know how to set up/take down a tent before, you definitely will now.
6. Rain? Just be happy you have a tent and not just a hammock under a tree…
7. Dance parties are appropriate in any situation, at any time, anywhere.
8. WR swag, chacos, and head buffs/head wraps will make a daily occurrence in your wardrobe during the World Race if it’s anything like training camp.
9. Comfort and convenience trump fashion everyday.
10. The border between Cambodia and Thailand will be the exact same as the scenario at training camp, except 10 degrees hotter, more hectic, noisier, and a million times more stressful. Pray for us.
And last but not least…
11. If the World Race is anything like training camp, these 11 months of travelling around the world will be the hardest, most challenging, most growing, most incredible 11 months of your life so far.
And I guarantee God is just getting started.

(U Squad – I'm there in the back!!)

(My beautiful team – these are the ladies that I will be living and working with for a large part of the race. From left to right: Kaylaynn, Lauren, Erika, me, Carolyn, and Libby)
(Priscilla and Lauren! So blessed to have gotten to know Priscilla while she was one of our trainers)
(Ya'll wish you had an outfit like mine. This is Kara and Hannah – two wonderful girls on my squad!)
