PHOTO OF THE DAY!
For my month in Bulgaria, I am challenging myself to share a photo and story with you all everyday. I will NOT be alerting you all for every post, you’re welcome! But if you want to keep up, just check my blog platform from time to time, to stay up to date! I’m hoping this will help you all see what my day to day looks like!
This month in Bulgaria, we are partnering with an organization called Mission Possible. Mission Possible holds and coordinates different events throughout the year. In winter they do Soup Kitchens, Women and Men Retreats. In summer they do youth and family camps. They have also published a magazine for Women, to help them come to know The Lord, and continue walking strong in their strength. The Magazine tells real stories from real women in Bulgaria, that are living out their faith boldly.
Since were here in the summer, we will be helping with the summer camp aspect. We help prepare meals for all 60 campers, we help clean up throughout the day, and after the camp. We also get to make connections with the campers, and join in on their sport time, bible studies, and worship sessions. So far, this month has been a blast.
But today, I want to share with you someone special!
Meet Maria. This adorable woman is a bomb chef, and a sweet spirit. She works her booty off cooking for camps throughout the summer. I have gotten to know her over this past week, helping her cook for a family camp in Bulgaria. She has taught me new cooking tricks, shown me what a true servant heart looks like, and even blessed me with flowers picked from her very own garden.
Maria is constantly working hard, with a smile on her face. She knows and loves God with all her heart. She has challenged me over this past week to find joy in every situation, even in the mundane.
Maria, you’re a delight. I have absolutely loved getting to know YOU!
