I am currently in Malealea, Lesotho the scenery is incredible.. You can see God in every sunrise and every sunset. All around there is beauty in this village..
We are working with Africa 4 Jesus it is a discipleship school they teach young men and women how to take the gospel back to their home village where they are able to truly make an impact in their community. These men walk anywhere from 1-3 hours one way to villages just to have bible studies because God is THAT important..
We came in along side of them to go into the villages and just do life with the community whether that was fetching water, helping cook, listening to their wisdom and stories, praying over the sick, playing with the children.. Then when God gave us the opportunity then we would talk about Jesus and the gospel! Loving them was more important then pressuring them to believe in Jesus.
My eyes were open. We had no wifi unless we drove two hours into the city.. We had no showers for the first two weeks.. We sleep on the ground in the church.. No electricity.. We have a long drop for a bathroom we walked an hour just to get to our village each way or sometimes two hours straight down a mountain and straight up.. and you know what.. I wouldn’t want it any other way. We take so much for granted that we don’t even realize!!
If I had all those things I would miss out on the beauty that God has placed in this valley.. Miss out on the relationships I have encountered. Miss out on being able to struggle and rely on my team.. Being able to speak in church about the greatness and freedom that God has to offer us.. Being able to give and receive love.. With all those things my mind wouldn’t be focused on the right things… Therefore, I have been grateful for this experience.. It has gone by way too fast..
So Month one… Have I changed.. I would say yes..
It’s an amazing start to being forever and completely changed..
Romans 5:3-5
Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
This isn’t even close to suffering but it makes us look at life with a new set of lens, through these experiences we are able to endure, and through endurance comes hope. It’s absolutely beautiful.

Kingdom in the sky
