So this
month, we started off by flying into Romania and staying in Brasov, Romania for
4 days for time to debrief and spend quality time with the coaches, squad
leaders, and other members of the squad. It was an amazing time to just have
one-on-one conversations with one another and just pray for each other and
share how the two months have been for us.After 4 solid days of squad time and worship, we all said our goodbyes and headed off to our ministry sites! Interesting thing about my team is that at the last minute we switched from doing ministry in Bucharest, Romania to the city near the Hungary border… Oradea 🙂
This month, our team has partnered up with Team
Rapha in beautiful but cold Oradea, Romania to work alongside the Felix Family
Village Ministries International. This organization consists of 16 families
with 16 sets of parents that live alongside each other in two different
villages in Oradea. What they do is take in and care for over 200 abandoned or
traumatized children, many of them that are orphaned. The couples that apply to
become parents in one of these homes go through many interviews, training, and
then a 3-month trial period in order to be approved to take on a family of
12-16 children! Kids do not come here to get adopted, they come here to get a
family. Each of these villages is a neighborhood full of families. It is
amazing to see how each family supports one another, and in a way the entire
village is a family. These parents are able to give them a loving family and
raise them up in a Christian home. When the kids go to college they move into a
young adult house in the city, and when they get married some of them move into homes built by
the Felix Family across the street. When a family is all grown and the children
are all old enough to start their lives on their own, the parents move out and a
new family is born there and they take their place. Caminul Felix believes that the Family Concept
is the key to unlocking a child that has been neglected and abandoned. At
Caminul Felix Family Villages, they provide a haven-a home, loving adoptive
parents and an extended family, brothers and sisters.
I love it
here working with the Felix Homes. During the day we wake up, have breakfast…
maybe a little work out or a light jog around the village.. then we worship,
pray and head off to work at the construction site. We are helping build homes
for the children at the homes, for when they get married and have a family of
their own they can move into one of these homes! And then during the afternoons
before dinner we spend a few hours visiting the homes and playing with the children
in the villages. It’s been so fun seeing how all these children come together
as a family, and they treat each other like brother and sister! I love it and
we are so honored and blessed to be able to
minister and be a part of the amazing ministry that is going on here in
Oradea.

-Pray that we have the energy and strength as well as positive attitudes to wake up every morning and do construction for a few hours.
-Pray for breakthroughs within my team, that we are honoring each other, loving each other, preferring each other.. but above on loving God and pursing our relationship with Him.
-Please pray that the Lord will reveal Himself to us this month, and that we are pursuing His will for us.
