Declarations. One
thing that the World Race does not tell you when you sign up is that at some
point on this trip you are going to have to do declarations. What are
declarations you ask? Declarations are when you yell truths about yourself for
the world to hear. You speak truth over your life, so that you hear it and believe
it and it will come to pass. There is power in the tongue, and power in what
you say… so we utilize that power and speak life and encouragement over
ourselves. In most instances, declarations happen while standing on top of a chair or on a very high mountainside overlooking a beautiful city while the sun is rising.
It was late Monday night and Raimie
(the other team leader) approaches me and Loretta and tells us to wake up at
5:45 in the morning because he wants to take us somewhere on an adventure. Baffled,
confused, and curious, we agree to his requests and we set our alarms. Right
before we are about to go to bed, he tell us to prepare some declarations…and
then it dawned on us.
At 6 o’clock in the morning, the three of
us met Prabin outside of the orphanage ready to declare truth over ourselves.
We hop onto the motorcycles, and Prabin leads us to a rocky winding pathway that
takes us straight up. I hold on tight to Raimie and the bike as we snake
through the narrow steep road (literally, this road is only 2 or 3 feet wide)
all around the edge of the mountain. After 45 minutes of travel, we arrive at a
cliff that overlooks the city of Kathmandu. In all it’s glory and beauty, we
watch the sunrise and just invite God’s presence to surround us. When I finally
mustered up enough courage, I cleared my throat and I began my declarations to
the Lord. I began speaking truth over my life for the whole city of Kathmandu
to hear. God hears me and smiles, Satan hears me and shudders, I hear myself
and I believe it and embrace it.
I AM

MY
PAST DOES NOT DEFINE ME, I AM A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST!
THERE
IS FREEDOM IN THE NAME OF JESUS, HE DOES NOT WANT ME TO LIVE IN SHAME OR GUILT.
GOD
HAS CALLED ME AND ANNOINTED ME TO HEAL THE SICK, RAISE THE DEAD, CLEANSE THOSE
WITH LEPROSY, AND CAST OUT DEMONS. HE HAS GRANTED ME THIS POWER THROUGH THE
HOLY SPIRIT WHICH LIVES IN ME!
GOD WANTS
TO KNOW ME INTIMATELY, HE WANTS TO KNOW THE INS AND OUTS AND IN BETWEENS!
MY
IDENTITY IS IN CHRIST AND CHRIST ALONE! HE IS FOUNDATION AND I CAN WALK IN
CONFIDENCE KNOWING THAT I HAVE BEEN BUILT ON THE ROCK!
